Κεφάλαιο 1ο " The Way I Loved You "...!

Και ναι, το πρώτο Κεφάλαιο είναι γεγονός!

-Flashback - 2 years ago-

“I will always love you.” he told me, but it was so hard to believe him. He was leaving forever, away from me.

All I could feel was pain. It seemed like that love was always hurting me. I loved him, but I wanted to forget. And my wish came true...

It was epic that we met, that we fell in love. Our relationship was full of love-hate. Full of passion. And in the end we couldn't stand being away from each other. No matter how much he was hurting me, the thought of leaving him never crossed my mind.

After killing the only family I had, things changed. As a vampire he couldn't control his feelings. He was so angry after my father had hit me. My father was always drunk and he was hitting me, but Daryl didn't know that. When he learned about it, though, he got really mad, he couldn't control himself and he killed him. It was just so easy for him to break his neck. However for me seeing my father dying was one of the worst things I had ever seen and I had seen a lot. Yes he was hitting me, but he was the only person I had left.

Daryl had hurt me so many times, but for some reasons I couldn't stop loving him. That's why he made me forget. He made me forget about how we met, fell in love, the first time we kissed and of course all the times he broke my heart into million pieces.

“As much as I don't want to do this, I have to. Because if I don't I would be the most selfish person in the world.” he told me tucking some of my light brown hair behind my ear. “ I'll always love you Linda. You were the one who made me remember what means to be human, how it is to be able to feel.”

I was standing in front of his grey/green eyes unable to move or speak. My mouth was wide open. I didn't know whether I wanted to yell at him not to do it or because of the shock of what he was about to do.

“ As hard as it is to say it, I want you to forget about me, how we fell for each other and how I hurt you, even if that wasn't in my intentions. You're going to move to an old friend of your mother. You'll be happy and make all your dreams come true. I'll never bother you again. You'll have a happy human life away from me. And I promise to protect you, nothing bad will happen to you again.” Tears escaped from his beautiful eyes. “ Goodbye Linda.” he compelled me and with that Daryl disappeared in the darkness.

-2 years later-

Finally my 18^th Birthday.

“Linda! Wake up sweetie!” Alicia yelled from down stairs.

Since my father died I was living with my mother's old friend, Alicia. Actually, she was a friend of both of my parents back in high school. Since she had only a son she decided to make me the third member of her little family and I was happy for that.

I got up from bed with a huge smile on my face. After my father's death I was feeling happier than ever. It was so weird after losing my only family, but then again I found a better new one, Alicia and her son, Steve.

Steve was the sweetest guy. He is only 15, but so mature for his age. He was like the little brother I never had and always wanted. The truth is that I would have had a little brother, but my mother died when she was pregnant and the baby died with her, before it was able to live and get to know the world.

I chose an outfit from my wardrobe to wear that day and headed to the bathroom to take a quick shower.

After I finished getting ready I went to the kitchen to have my first breakfast as an adult.

As I stepped to the room I found the two people that meant everything to me holding a small birthday cake. As soon as they saw me they smiled sweetly at me and started singing the “Happy Birthday” song.

“ Make a wish!” Steve told me when they were done singing.

And I did. I made a wish. I wished I could make that emptiness I was feeling some times to go away. I was always with a big smile on my face, but I was never truly happy.

I repeated my wish on my mind and blew the candles.

“ Happy Birthday darling. I wish you'll find everything you're looking for.” Alicia hugged me.

“ Thank you Alicia.” I told her and hugged her back.

“ Happy birthday sis!” Steve gave me a quick hug.

“ Thanks Stevie.” I laughed because I knew he hated being called like that.

He rolled his eyes and said “ Look at you. You seem so much older!” he teased me.

I playfully hit his arm and turned my attention back to Alicia. “ What do we have for breakfast?”

After having breakfast, I almost run to school. I was excited and I had an odd feeling, as someone that I loved was waiting for me there... I stopped thinking about that, because if I did I would have to admit that I was insane.

When I arrived to school, I almost sensed the new student. My breathing accelerated and my heartbeat fastened. I held my breath as I met the most beautiful eyes in the world, that also felt so.... familiar....

A magical smile covered his face and automatically I smiled at him. He started walking towards me and.... “ HAPPY BDAY!!!” I looked behind me horrified as I saw my friends approaching me with a huge cake full of candles.

“ Oh My God guys you scared me!” I told them with a laugh and then smiled looking at my second birthday cake.

The truth is that I was feeling a bit disappointed that the new guy didn't come to talk to me, because my crazy friends “attacked” me with a happy birthday song. Second time today.

After they finished singing, Jensen one of my my friends told me “ Make a wish!” the same thing that Steve told me, I thought and laughed at myself.

“ Two birthday wishes? Lucky me!”

That time I wished I met the familiar guy I was staring at earlier. I had the desire to get to know him better.

The day went by quickly. I saw a lot of the new student, but every time he was coming to talk to me someone would ruin it. I guess my birthday wish wouldn't come true today. At least I could still look at him.

Last period, finally, I thought and walked to English alone since none of my friends were with me in that lesson.

I sat in the same desk as always next to the window. The seat next to me was empty. I sighed hoping one of my friends were here, I was really bored.

I looked outside the window. The weather was finally pretty nice. The sun was shining, there were no clouds on the sky. It was clear and bluer than ever.

I was lost in my thoughts for a while and I didn't realize that someone was talking to me.

They coughed and said “ Um excuse me. Do you mind if I sit here?”

I turned my head and I met his breathtaking eyes again.

“ Sorry. Yes of course you can sit here.” I smiled and he smiled back.

When I looked into his eyes and saw him smiling I had that feeling that I knew him. It was official I was getting insane.

“Thanks.”

He sat down next to me looking straight in front. I was examining him thoroughly trying so hard to remember from where I had seen him before.

“Sorry for asking, but have we met before?” I asked unsure.

He chuckled “I don't think so.”

“ You jut look so familiar.” I continued and he shrugged. I bet he thought I was crazy so I stopped talking.

I turned my attention back to the teacher if I continued talking I would make things too awkward.

“ I heard that today is your birthday.” he told me.

I couldn't focus to the lesson. I was trying to find a way to talk to him. And like a miracle he asked me if it was my birthday.

I nodded happily and he said “ Happy Birthday! I hope your b-day wish will come true.” he gave me one of his wonderful smiles.

“ Thank you...” I stopped waiting for him to tell me his name.

“ Daryl!” he held out his hand.

“I'm Linda!” I shook his hand.

Something about his name... I had heard it before. Maybe it was just from a movie or something, I thought. The last thing I wanted was to believe that I was crazy. I mean, I couldn't know that guy. It was the first time I saw him.

“Beautiful name!” he told me and I blushed.

We talked for a while getting to know each other. I told him about my family. It was so weird. I had only known him for a while and I felt like I could trust him.

He told me that he had to move here, because of his father's work. “ You're gonna like it here.”

“I'm sure I will!” he looked at me deeply in my big light brown eyes and we stayed there for a while, lost in each other's eyes. It was so difficult to look away. His eyes had enchanted me.

The bell rang making me look away, but I could still feel his eyes burning me. I gathered my stuff, got up from my seat and turned to look at Daryl.

He was already up with his bag over his shoulder.

“It was nice meeting you Linda!” he hugged me.

That was odd. We had just met and he was hugging me. I didn't mind, though. I liked being in his arms. It felt... right.

“ Sorry... I shouldn't -” he pulled back when he realized he was hugging me.

“ It's cool!” I cut him off. “ It was nice meeting you too.” I smiled. It seemed like that was the only thing I was doing since I met him... smiling.

“I'll see you soon.” he told me and with that he disappeared.
